Local Food Cooking Class

Local Food Tidewater - a new non-profit dedicated to helping the consumption of locally grown foods - is pleased to announce a new series of winter cooking classes starting January 19th at The Boot in the Ghent area of Norfolk. Taught by Boot Chef Brendan Vesey, with an occasional special guest, the classes will focus on technique with the final class culminating in a Valentine’s Day feast for two. All four classes will feature locally grown seasonal products. Each participant will receive a complimentary Virginia made beverage to accompany the light lunch featuring that week’s creation. You will also receive a recipe book with photos, shopping lists, and detailed recipes. Classes are $30 each or $100 for the four course series. Proceeds will benefit the 5 Points Farm Market move to its new location on Church St. just down from the Attucks Theater.
