Classes will be Monday evenings from 6-8pm

What to expect:
Classes will feature guest chefs from area restaurants such as Bobbywood, Vintage Kitchen, Bardo, La Galleria, The Green Onion, Empire, and of course the Boot. Classes will show the importance of local produce and strive to rediscover seasonal availability. We will set the dining room up for one large group and each table will have minimal utensils and equipment necessary for teaching the class.  Each student will be able to taste and try portions of the final class product, however each class will focus on a particular method or style of preparation and not necessarily be a meal from start to finish. Think of this series more as a fun and interactive cooking show rather than a school from which to graduate.

The proceeds from these classes will benefit the Five Points Community Farm Market whose mission is to provide a community gathering place that connects small farmers with urban/suburban consumers, developing new market opportunities and promoting locally grown, fresh produce as part of a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, the Farm Market’s purpose is to provide entrepreneurial opportunity and training for mirco-businesses and local farmers.

Knowing what is produced in our region and celebrating it will help us relearn seasonal availability.   The Boot will have Virginia wines for $5 and Virginia Tap beer for $2.50. Also Switch Soda from Richmond will be available in 8 flavors for $1.
