Ellen Burstyn’s book Lessons on Becoming Myself hit bookshelves last fall and has quickly won the praise of all those surprised and enchanted by her rich memoir. Through a tramatic upbringing to wild hollywood misadventures, you are able to see how she helped to define a role for women with true talent in the industry. She has been nominated for an Academy Award six times and won for Best Actress in Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. Come out for her book signing and enjoy wine and cheese on a Sunday afternoon as the Boot hosts this event in support Broad Street Books. We will be offering a special selection of either house red or white wine with a cheese plate featuring a Virginia and Italy selection for $10. For the kids we have Switch Soda from Richmond in 8 flavors. The event begins at 1 PM where Ellen will speak about her book and sign copies for the afternoon.
