This weekend's Harborfest is going to shove people into downtown Norfolk as if we had a raffle for a giant squid tentacle and a bag of energy crystals however we will all be watching a parade of boats as Sail Virginia comes to Norfolk. throwback Beatles or maybe Tommy James, Locksley is one of Relative's favorites and I will say their live show is an energetic buzz. Not to mention their charming personalities will get you going like nobody's business. Little known fact - the only time a guy wishes he was a 15 year old girl is when two guys sing into the same microphone. It's true. Well actually there is another time but this update is about music! This is top notch instrumentation going down at The Boot. We will start things off right at 9 pm with Sam Karr playing his finger style guitar method expanding several genres. Lymbyc Systym will hit the stage and if you happen to be at their last Boot performance you will know it was amazing as well as being a packed house. Next is two members of Foxes Through Fences in a debut performance of their ambient side project Vent de L'Ouest. The Eames Era is back to Norfolk and this time playing the Boot as they prance their charming pop from side to side. I dont know why but they make me think of Dora The Explorer for grown-ups. Not dirty or anything just something less mind numbing and more instigating. Order a round of lemon drops and this will make sense. Starting off the night is Exit Clov and it is about time we figured a way to bring these DC natives to town. Featuring multiple instrumentation their swing goes from somber to upbeat and operatic. I think ice cream sandwiches are in order.

It is safe to say that this will be the most heart breaking show of the year. If you have not heard Chris Garneau's new album Music For Tourists then you must not have a strong hold on your heart chakra. So simple and poignant that his solicitous voice could only make you recognize your true endeavors. Why am I really doing this? What is slowing me down? What are my faults? This rain on my car is the baptism of the new me! Okay I have seen Say Anything too many times. Local stuntboywonder TC will be on the bill as {}[]() showing his tender experimental side. This show is a big deal - dont miss a second.

Who saw Fight The Big Bull play at the Boot last month? It was a seriously like hanging out in the sauna but you get one of those little motorized fans before you walk in. All kinds of kids mixing up different concoctions to dump on the rocks. Oh the steam is so sweet and my skin is a glow but yet I can breathe like a magician trapped underwater for 28 days which in short is to say I can breathe like always. My love affair with the mysterious grows deep roots they pour that sweet mixture on the rocks. Come let us camp in the hot springs on this night right here at the Boot.
